I dont know, there is a VOIP thing built into the game, but i have no idea if it works.

I did have the pleasure of hearing a whiney american child giving us instructions like "take the base" in one game, but thats about it.

I havent checked the TS server dibz setup a couple of months ago. But yea we have no hope of coordinating without voice comms.

So you finally saw the light and got it.

I'm playing under a tag of Duuz and can give you tanking for Merc missions if you want.

I run 30 Assault with full tank spec with 3400+ hp and with 50% resists which makes fun fights if i can get one medic attached to my hips and 2 others to bring more DPS.

ATM i'm in random ad-hoc finnish agency but if we ever resurrect NA i'm game.

Agency fights is where the fun is best at. Key is not to be shy on windows and try to take a Hex if you can, on HQ defenses you get freebie Mech for your side so those bases are much easier to defend.

(Unless off brings hideously expensive AvA vehicles, then it is different.)

I dont think we are ressing nordic assault, i cant be arsed to run anything anyway tongue.gif

Will go with BIGASS since its a lot of ex planetside people and we know a few of them.

I also just realised that as its a Steam game we can just use the steam voice chat as well.

With a 50player agency its possible to hold 1-2 hex at the time, from few days of experience, don't know how this is gonna shape up as people will start building more AvA turrets for def.

For years I've lived a double life. In the day I do my job, I ride the bus, roll up my sleeves with the hoi-poloi. But at night, I live a life of exhilaration. Of missed heartbeats and adrenaline. And, if the truth be known, a life of dubious virtue. I won't deny, I've been engaged in violence, even indulged in it. I've maimed and killed adversaries, and not merely in self defence. I've exhibited disregard for life, limb, and property, and savoured every moment. You may not think it to look at me, but I have commanded armies, and conquered worlds. And though, in achieving these things, I have set morality aside, I have no regrets. For though I've led a double life, at least I can say, 'I have lived'.

I have a small vent server - give me a shout ingame or on steam for details. For big AvA pushes we are using the mercenarys TS3 server.

Eurogamer Review

QUOTE(Quintin Smith)
If Hi-Rez is trying to sell its game to some as a straight shooter, the bigger problem with the PvP and PvE (besides the fact that all four of the classes have trouble shooting straight) is the lack of control you have over your game. You can't simply drop into a match, you have to spawn in Dome City, make your way to the Mission select terminal and then join a queue for either PvE of a certain difficulty or PvP. There is no filtering the matches you'll join in any way, no choosing the map, and in PvP there's no picking which of the five game types you'll end up playing.

QUOTE(Quintin Smith)
It's a shooter without eloquence or crunch, an MMO without content or personality, and as an experimental combination of the two it's missing ambition. I played Planetside for a year because I was so inspired by what it tried to do, and because its problems tended to arise from it being huge and daring at any cost. This? It barely has any problems beyond its averageness. And that's a much, much harder thing to get behind.

Yea this is a game that people jus thave to make their own minds up on, the Games Radar review was much more positive.

I am now enjoying it, but... it all hinges on the AvA stuff, which we had a brief go at last night but got badly mullered due to inexperience of me and some other squad members.. to be expected.

I also think they need some other classes other than just the grunt, mech, medic and recon - you either have damage dealer, sneaky or support.

Playing a medic is extremely dull unfortunately - pull out med gun, point it at grunt, press and hold fire for the entire game. They need a better way of doing that - like the medics in the battlefield series who could fight with a few restrictions but were able to provide a few heals and ressurrect people.

Recons are quite good fun, but of limited use inside a zone control brawl which tend to be in enclosed areas.

Mechs and grunts have more fun i think, but theonly really shooty shooty bang bang class is the grunt.. which is a problem when the game wants to be a shooter.

Still... these are problems to be ironed out as we any mmo type game.

I'm really enjoying it atm. The PVP is challenging enough, and although you cant choose what type of game type your gonna get.. I kinda like it. It rotates enough to keep things interesting.

Havant had a chance to try AvA yet, but will be on later tonight hopefully.

Aye we got wiped across the board last night, mainly due to lack of tactical know how, cohesion and an understrength team!

We need to make sure we have a full strikeforce and to be honest we need to be level 20+ as skill points make a big difference. Also we need to be on voice comms.

I'm sure things will improve, hang in there duuz don't quit on me just yet... wink.gif (I think he has jumped from the frying pan into the fire by joining BIGASS)

On a plus note our 7 man team wtfpwned that solo level 12 defender and won a bugged hex.....!

Had a few good games with this last night - it can be frustrating but when it works it works well. Not tried the AvA yet but I can certainly imagine that it will require some tactical know-how and good communications...

QUOTE
A SPECIAL POST-LAUNCH THANK YOU!

Greetings to everyone who joined us in launching Global Agenda over the past couple weeks, and many thanks to the thousands of people that helped us alpha and beta test the game ahead of launch.

Because of your involvement and positive word of mouth, we've had a great launch, and seen much stronger than expected initial Global Agenda sales.

In fact, last week we were the #2 best selling game on Steam and the only game in the Steam Weekly Top Ten based on original/non-sequel IP. Thanks for supporting independent game development and battling sequel-itis! Thanks also for your patience with initial server tuning and Conquest adjustments.

MARCHING FORWARD

We view the release of Global Agenda as the start of the journey and we are already working hard to continue delivering improvements, new features, and new content based on your feedback.

To prove it to you, we are going to extend the free-play period for Global Agenda Conquest while continuing to deliver features and content enhancements.

We feel this is the best way to prove to you the value of a Global Agenda Conquest subscription, while also ensuring that as many people as possible are exposed to our unique and innovative Conquest gameplay.

Play Conquest Free until March

All players will continue to be able to play the Conquest features for the rest of February and March without a monthly subscription fee.

In the very near future, here are some additional enhancements and improvements you can expect:

BY THE END OF FEBRUARY -

We will deliver a set of enhancements ASAP based on fairly unanimous community input. We currently plan to have the following items in production by the end of February:

    * Friend List/Ignore List - Steam has a Friends List, and we offer Agency Management as an alternate way to find your friends, but an in-game Friends List (and Ignore List) was a high requested feature that is being added.
    * Player Choice on PvP Queues - For initial release we consolidated gametypes within a single PvP queue. With no guarantee around number of players we would have, our top priority was to ensure the players got into matches quickly and to make sure our matchmaking system had a sufficiently large population to balance out sides. That said, we've heard how much players want to specify, or eliminate, certain match types. And we do have the population to support this request. So, we will be implementing player selections per PvP gametype so you can exclude or include each type as you wish.
    * Repair Kits - Non-visual Upgrades (of the Armor or Weapon variety) do increase stats for your character. And by the time you collect 16 of them they make a big difference. They also take time to craft and/or buy and, after all that time invested, having them wear away without any recourse was frustrating. Repair Kits are a new item type that will be available in-game and restore your Upgrades to full durability.
    * Additional AvA zones and AvA Reporting - We are introducing new AvA zones to support play during hours more convenient for those in other locales. We are adding:
    *
o Zone 6 - Oceania/Australia - 19:00 to 21:30 in Sydney, 16:00 to 18:30p in Singapore (3a to 5:30a US Eastern, Midnight to 2:30 US Pacific) [NOTE: Initially, will run on servers hosted in the US but be geared toward an Oceanic audience, or for night owls on the US West Coast].

          o Zone 8 - Europe - 14:00 to 16:30 GMT (9a to 11:30a Eastern)

Dome City Screenshots

We are also adding a few new Conquest screens to give Agencies reporting of historical combat events. And, we will continue to publish our game stats externally via web APIs so community sites can access the data and develop custom reports. And deliver a variety of bug fixes and other improvements.

BEYOND FEBRUARY -

Generally speaking, we intend to earn your subscription. Our entire Studio is focused on continued feature and content development for Conquest gameplay, including:

    * More PvP Content - New maps around a 4v4 arena gamestyle as well as a 10v10 pre-made queue.
    * More PvE Content - We've been pleased by the positive reception to our 'dungeon-crawl' style Infiltration PvE missions. That said, we want to offer additional variety both in setting and mission type. Imagine being able to step outside of the doors of Dome City and assist Bancroft by doing missions within a large open area, with additional loot available in that location. We are working toward delivering this content.
    * More AvA Content - New facility types and new game-styles for Conquest. Specifically we are developing a new 'No Facility' map based on Control style, a new Defensive Facility that grants protection to adjacent territories, and Resource Raid Missions based on Payload style. We also recognize that some of the game-board rules need to be looked at; we will continue to monitor those to ensure that AvA maintains the right balance between accessibility and significance.
    * Improved Crafting, Loot and Prestige Items

We thank you for support and look forward to building the Global Agenda world together.

Todd Harris
Global Agenda, Executive Producer
